Monica Magana

Financial Consultant

Monica was born and raised in San Diego and has resided in Chula Vista for 16 years. She has worked in the bookkeeping/accounting industry for the last 15 years. She has been married since 2006, has three kids and is very active in the community. The following are a few major factors that led to the creation of MLM Financial Services:

After taking Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University in 2011, Monica noticed how many individuals were attracted to the idea of financial peace and the desire for accountability. Observing further, where to begin was the unanswered question for most. At best, many used memory-based calculations and/or guesstimates to determine their spending; thus, not fully having accurate numbers to produce accurate results. In sum, there was nothing to check and balance numbers unaccounted for to gage whether short and long term financial goals were truly being met.

Upon meeting with her financial advisor in 2014, she received an overview of what it would take to fully fund her retirement account. With figures beyond her grasp, she began to wonder if there was a better way to get current reality on track given a middle class income with her individual spending behavior.

Working with CPA Ron Sahmel at Sahmel & Associates, CPAS- she began to implement the knowledge and accounting principles learned, steadily began to order her individual finances like a business and analyzing the results on a reoccurring basis.

Being passionate about discussing finances, Monica has become very aware that many individuals in her own generation operate based off of the balances on smartphones and the blessing of credit. For many that have shared their heart with her, it seems to be extremely time consuming and exhausting to input financial data (as fast as one spends), analyze and understand the big picture and what that translates into on a day-to-day application.

The heart behind this service is counter cultural and seeks to break individuals and families out of the societal norm of being in debt and living paycheck to paycheck.
